I am a haiku
A short poem
Guessing the syllables
I say, “I'll start soon”
Suddenly it's midnight
I’ve done nothing
Or, at times, I finish right away
Like an idea that shows up quickly
That sticks instead of leaving
I am the haiku
That gets lost in its thoughts
Forgets the last line
But pretends it's on purpose
I am still a poem
A somewhat messy haiku
Not perfect, but still on the page
